PLAZA AND TIVOLI
LAST DAYS OF “VAMPING VENUS” Scenes dazzling in their beauty, lightly-clad dancing maidens, Ethiopians stalwart and glistening incense urns steaming in the sunlight, enormous classic pillars rising into the sky, gods and goddesses at play; all theso and many more spectacular and impressive sights are found in First National’s great special comedy, “Vamping Venus.” now at the Plaza and Tivoli Theatres. Impressive sets were made and hundreds of extras used for the ancient Greece sequences in this picture, a story of a New York politician of- to-day who takes an imaginary trip to Athens in the height of its glory. A picture of drama and suspense is the second attraction, “The Wheel of Chance.” in which Richard Barthelmess plays a dual role. Another big programme will be presented at the Plaza and Tivoli on Thursday, headed by the latest Reginald Denny picture. “Good Morning, Judge.” In his latest success Denny plays the role of a young man-about-town who allows himself to be reformed by a beautiful young heiress. The second picture on Thursday will be “The Butter and Egg Man,” another of those most enjoyable comedies with Jack Mulhall in the leading role.
