STRAND

LAST DAYS OF “STUDENT PRINCE” “The Student Prince,” a magnificent and lavish screen version of the beautistage play, has its final screening to-morrow evening, for another spectacular photo-play commences its season on Wednesday. The beautiful musical and stage prologue, and the charming accompaniment by Eve Bentley’s Strand Symphony Orchestra, will also be presented for the last time to-morrow evening. The next attraction is “The Prince of Adventurers,” a gorgeous French extravaganza. One of the most distinguished journalists of the "Sphere" wrote: “ ‘The Prince of Adventurers’ is quite delightful. I had from the first the sensation of having stepped into a rich and brilliant tapestry of the 18th century, and the end of the film found me with a definite sense of regret. The whole production is a gorgeous, glittering and lavish affair, but I have seen many colossal, expensive costume-pictures that left me quite unmoved. ‘Prince of Adventurers.’ however, has succeeded most magnificently in recapturing the elusive atmosphere of the period, for which rare feat the director deserves the heartiest congratulations. The corrupt and exquisitely beautiful Venice of Casanova’s time is strikingly vivid and alive, and the pomp and majesty of the Russian court is brilliantly presented.” The photo-play will be preceded by a special stage and musical prologue. Eve Bentley, the popular and talented musical directress dt the Strand Theatre, has arranged a special musical score. This will be played by the Strand Symphony Orchestra. On the supporting programme will be a Strand Magazine, with many sporting news items and and other interesting scenes, and a Nature Study film.
