GAOL FOR CAR THIEF
Press Association PALMERSTON N.. To-day. “It's no use whatever giving this youth a chance. He is somewhat of the larrikin type, lies profusely and is apt to get into mischief all the time. He is evidently out to have as gay a life as ho can.” This description was applied by Senior-Sergeant Whitehouse to Alfred John Buhek, aged 19, who was charged with converting a car and driving to Foxton. He was seen by the owner’s brother and a smart arrest was effected. * Accused, who was recently released from a Borstal Institute, received a month’s imprisonment with hard labour. He left the dock smiling.
