Indian Doctor Throws Bombs at Wife and Son (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (United Service) Received 10.25 a.m. DELHI, Friday. STANDING on the roof of a house with bombs in one hand and a dagger in the other, a Mohammedan surgeon at Meerut, in the presence of a crowd numbering several thousands, defied the police. He had quarrelled with his wife and went with ten bombs to the house where she was staying. On the way he met his brother-in-law, whom he blew to pieces. He threw the other bombs, slightly injuring his wife and small son. Then he barricaded himself in the house and, in reply to the police challenge to surrender, hurled more bombs, injuring several in the crowd. He was ultimately shot in the leg by a constable, and arrested. He was afterwards taken to hospital, where he is recovering from an overdose of opium.
