Mr John Alexander, C.M.G., left far tiie South by the Limited last evening. Mr. E. Welsh was a passenger from Wellington by the Limited this morning' Sir George Elliot returned to Auckland this morning by the Limited from Wellington. Mr. R. A. Lippincott, who has been visiting the South, returned to Auckland this morning by the Limited. Mr. B. C. Housley, assistant traffic manager at Auckland, has returned from Rotorua, where he has been holding an inquiry. The Rev. James Haslop, formerly of Canada, lias been appointed minister in charge of the Hamilton East Presbyterian Church District. Mr. F. T. Eyre left for Sydney by the Manama yesterday to attend the annual meeting of the Australasian Institute of Incorporated Secretaries. Mr. A. D. Thomson has been appointed to act as deputy for Mr. P. Versehaffelt. Public Service Commissioner, as from November 1 until his return to duty. Mr. John McLeod, district secretary to the Manchester Unity Oddfellows in Auckland, has been appointed to represent New Zealand at the meeting of the annual moveable committee of the order which will be held at Portsmouth, England, on May 20, 1929.
