In the athletic world he played in the ( senior Grade Grafton Rugby Football t Club, and represented Auckland Rugby \ at Thames in 1898. I
After a brilliant career at the Auckland Grammar School and two years ; farming, Mr. E. R. Allen joined Arch. - Clark and Sons and represented them . “on the road” for over 10 years in i every part of the North Island. * Leaving them in 1913, he again took , up rural pursuits and successfully : farmed in the Bay of Plenty and the Waikato until his retirement two years , a “since then he has been a member of the Roskill Road Board, and took a ] verv active part in opposing tlie Motor Omnibus Traffic Act. His business j training should enable him to render . valuable services if elected to the i House of Representatives. i
Born 1885 and educated at Wellington, N.Z., dux at Wellington College 1902. Winner of Queen’s Scholarship, Junior University Scholarship, and many other scholarships and prizes. Graduated B.A in 1905. M.A. with Honours in Mathematics and Mathematical Physics in 1906. LL.B. 1909. Mr. Mason has had 26 years’ experience in the profession of barrister and solicitor in both town and country. Mr. Mason was elected Mayor at Pukekohe for 1915-1919. He represents Eden (now Suburbs) in the present Parliament and has the warmest commendations from all parts of the electorate for his work for the district and constituents.
