SPEECH AT MATAMATA

(From Our Own CorrespondentJ MATAMATA. To-day. The Country Party candidate for Rotorua, Mr. S. H. Judd, opened his campaign at Matamata during the week.

Mr. J. Buchanan, chairman of the Town Board, presided. The candidate received an attentive hearing from an audience of about 50 persons. The policy of the Country Party was carefully explained and severe criticism was meted out to both Reform legislation and the proposals of the United Party.

Very .few questions were asked and the meeting terminated with a vote of thanks.
