HIDE MARKET FIRM WELLINGTON SALE (From Our Resident Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Friday. Tbo fortnightly sales of sheepskins, hides, tallow and sundries were held this afternoon. Dry sheepskins were in steady demand and maintained the previous quoted rates, with an occasional rise on tine wool. Salted skins sold at full late rates. There was good inquiry for all grades and weights of hides. Prices generally for heavies, mediums, lights, kip and yearlings ruled Arm. Calf met a weaker market and values declined id to Id a lb. There was a fair demand (or tallow with the exception of inferior lots, which were weaker. Otherwise the market was unchanged. The following is the range of prices:— Sheepskins.—Half bred, 133 dto 144 d; fine crossbred, 12d to 14£d; medium crossbred, lid to 13£d; coarse crossbred, 9id to 12jd; half wools, Sd to 124 d; quarterwools, 7jd to llid; pelts, 7Jd to 10£d; pelts, salted, 2s lOd to 4s 6d; half wools, salted, t>s 6d to Ss 3d; three-quarter wools, salted, 8s 6d to 11s 7d; full wools, salted, 10s 6d to 13s 2d; extra large, to 14s 2d; lambs, 2s 7d to 3s sd. Hides.—Ox, 331 bto 441 b, 9d to 94d; 451 b to 521 b, 8 7-Sd to 9d; 531 bto 591 b, 9 5-Sd to 10 1-Sd; 601 bto 691 b, lOd to 10 3-8 d; 701 b and over, 10 1-Sd to 10 3-Bd.
