SMALL CRAFT DAMAGED
GALE IN BLUFF HARBOUR Press Association INVERCARGILL#, Thursday. Earlv this morning a terrific gale swept across Bluff Harbour, causing a fair amount of damage to fishing periodically returning to the museum to wharves. The wind rose at about 2 a.m.. and soon attained gale force. Many of the vessels were in danger of drifting on to the rocks through the parting of mooring lines, but the watchman was aware of the danger, and quickly got into communication with the various owners. Most of the damage was done to fishing vessels. The weather improved considerably later in the morning.
