EIGHT NATIVES SHOT

Reed. 11.20 a.m. DARWIN, To-day. An aboriginal youth, giving evidence at the trial of two aboriginals who are charged with the murder of Frederick Brooks in Central Australia, said that a lubra (a native woman) was used as a decoy.

Brooks was ambushed by a party of natives who clubbed him to death and buried his body in a rabbit burrow. The police pursued the natives €0 miles into the bush. The natives showed fight and eight were shot dead. The two survivors are now undergoing trial.
