KING MAKES "TALKIE”
FIRST IN BRITAIN (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Tuesday. King George unknowingly made the first "talkie movie" in Britain during a speech at the opening of a bridge Newcastle. An enterprising American newsreel photographer filmed the scene and speech, and sent them to America to be developed. It is said to have been a remarkable success. The King is to b© invited to fifar the reproduction when his permission is asked to release it to the theatres.
