OLD MAN’S OUTBURST
ABUSED MOTORIST William Edgard thought that a service car driver had not sufficient regard for his safety when driving along Broadway, Newmarket, yesterday. He expressed his resentment with a stream of lurid remarks, and was accordingly charged at the Police Court this morning with using obscene language. Sub-Inspector McCarthy thought that Edgard, a German, aged 70, was drunk at the time, and considered that the driver had gone too close to him. A fine of £1 was imposed, the old man being given two days to pay.
