“NOT FIT TO SIT”
MR. OSBORNE DEFENDS MR. HARRIS UNITED MAN CRITICISED “Though I differ from Mr. Harris in politics and have never yet defended him on a public platform, I take strong exception to this sort of stuff for which the other candidate has been responsible,” said Mr. A. G. Osborne, Labour candidate for Waitentata, in an address at Narrow Neck last evening. He was referring to a circular issued by the United candidate, Mr. R. H. Greville, during the past few days, in which the electors of Waitemata were called upon to “end all interference, worry, bad government, Harris-ing, and vote Greville.” “A man who will stoop to such sneers at the expense of the name of another candidate is not fit to sit in the House of Representatives.” said Mr. Osborne. He thought Mr. Greville had been above that sort of thing, and if the /United Party candidate topped the poll it would cast a serious reflection on the good judgment of the people of Waitemata. The candidate was given a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence.
