APPOINTMENTS AND PROMOTIONS ASSISTANT-STATIONMASTER AT AUCKLAND Several appointments and promotions are announced by the Railway j Department. Mr. W. Thomson, traffic inspector at Auckland, has been promoted to the position of assistant-stationmaster at Auckland in succession to Mr. W. Hartley, who went to Oarnaru. The other appointments are as j follows: Mr. T. F. Chandler, traffic inspector, Christchurch, to assistant-station-master, Palmerston North. Mr. J. A. Arthur, stationmaster, j l;'ihape, to stationmaster, Taumaru- | nui. Mr. G. Marsh, senior cle.rk, Hastings, to officer in charge goods branch, i hreymouth. Mr. J. Barker, to the position of ! relieving officer, Auckland. Mr. C. W. Thomas, stationmaster, hannon, to station clerk, Westport.
