Extended Tour

STOWAWAYS WHO CANNOT LAND MUST STAY ON SHIP Two young stowaways who joined the Haddington Court at Iquique, in Chile, are likely to be unofficial members of the crew for some time. • Karl Hans Buchler, a Swiss, aged 28, and Artur Max Brunner, a German, aged 23, pleaded guilty at the Police Court this morning to stowing away on the Haddington Court at Iquique. Sub-Inspector McCarthy suggested that, as the men were both prohibited immigrants, they had best be remanded on the ship, and taken away again. The Haddington Court was sailing for Sydney on Friday. A representative of the shipping company complained that the same trouble would arise in Australia, and the men would not be allowed to land.
