DOG’S BUSY DAY

MAORI GIRLS ATTACKED ONE THROWN FROM HORSE (From Our Own Correspondent) PAPAKURA, To-day. In a story told in the Pukekohe Court yesterday by two Maori girls, a dog caused one of their norses to unseat its rider and bit the other on the foot. The owner, J. A. Blomfield, of Pokeno Valley, was called upon to answer a charge of being the owner of dangerous dogs. The girls related that they were walking their horses on the way home past Blomfield’s property, whereupon two dogs rushed out, one biting a horse causing it to “buck” and later nipping a girl’s foot. For the defence it was claimed that the dogs had never attacked anyone previously. The magistrate, Mr. F. H. Levien, entered a conviction and ordered the owner to pay £2 13s in costs.
