OMNIBUS LICENSING

PERMITS CANCELLED The No. 2 (North Shore) Omnibus Licensing authority at a meeting a-t Devonport last evening cancelled, following the giving of notice. the licences of Mr. G. Sutcliffe and Mr. R. Ingham, of Birkenhead, who had In February been granted permission to run bus services to Albany. The licensees found it impossible to get vehicles, that would satisfy the Public Works requirements and at the same time be light enough to come under the weight restrictions imposed by the road-controlling authority, the Waitemaia County Council. A number of applications for bus services on race days at Taka puna Racecourse were adjourned for the necessary advertising. The Takapuna Borough Council agreed to permit its traffic officer to assist in checking overcrowding. A formal application from the Marine Suburbs Bus Company for permission to start a service to Albany was held over.
