The Adelaide branch of the Seamen’s Union has adopted a resolution refusing to hand over the keys, books and records to Peter McKernan of the Johnson faction. A message was read from Walsh, urging the Adelaide secretary, C. Woodsford, to retain possession, as McKernan was not authorised to take C °Mr E Bakewell, president of the Employers’ Federation, reviewing the ftVikes and ruffianism in Melbourne, said “It is quite evident that if peaceable citizens desire to carry on business. they must resist the lawlessness the maritime unions. The best way W preserve peace is to prepare for war.”
