“It is little use planning wtllventiiated classrooms and going to the expense of providing an ample number of windows if teachers neglect to use them,” wrote the Director of Education to the Auckland Education Board to-day. During recent visits the director had noticed “inexcusable neglect” on the part of teachers to ventilate schools properly. A notice was being inserted in the Education Gazette and the attention of inspectors was being drawn to the fault. The Chairman, Mr. A. Burns: We should draw the senior inspector’s attention, and also the teachers’. The director is quite right. The windows are no use if not used.
