WANGANUI VENUE PROBABLE N.Z. COUNCIL MEETS /Special to THE SUN) WELLINGTON. Tuesday. The New Zealand Golf Council met last evening. Mr. W. E. A. Gill was re-elected chairman, and Sir Alex Roberts vice-chairman. The question of the formation of district sub-associations, regarding which a recommendation was passed at the annual meeting, was considered, and it was decided that in the meantime an amending rule to the association’s constitution should be drafted and circulated to clubs for their consideration. The council decided tp write to thjE* Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. 'Andrew’s for details regarding the working o£ sub-associations, and also to Mr. C. H. Redhead. With regard to next year’s tournament, it was resolved to notify the Wanganui Golf Club that the council would have a preliminary inspection of the Belmont course made with a view to holding the championship meeting there next year. The matter of standard scratch scores was considered, and it was resolved to notify all clubs that the standard scratch scores allotted to them should be adopted as from January 1 next. Those clubs which have not yet applied for a, standard scratch score to be asked to do so at once so as to bring all clubs into line as regards a score for their courses and handicapping. As a preliminary step toward the arrangements for the next Kirk-Win-Cup competition, it was resolved to write to the Australian Golf Union and advise it that New Zealand is prepared to send over a team next year. TE AWAMUTU CLOSING PRIZES PRESENTED The members of the Te Awamutu Ladies’ Golf Club held the closing day on Saturday, when there was a good attendance. A Canadian foursome was played, the winners being Mrs. A. F. Walker and Miss M. Kay. During the afternoon the captain, Miss Quin, congratulated the members upon the high standard of play attained, particularly as the season advanced, and complimented those who were successful in winning competitions. The King Country championship had been won by the Te Awamutu team. The presentation of trophies was made to the following winners: L.G.U. Medal: Senior, Miss K. Woolly; junior, Miss A. Montifiore; C.
