PUBLICITY FOR N.Z.
TOBACCO FIRM’S CAMPAIGN GOVERNMENT CO-OPERATES Serving commercial purposes in attractive fashion, and at the same time having valuable publicity value for New Zealand “cigarette paper,” a magazine issued by Rothman’s, Ltd., has embarked on a “boost New Zealand” campaign. The paper has already given service in this way to Rhodesia, and now attention has been directed to this Dominion. Rothman’s, Ltd., a big tobacco firm having connection with 100,000 customers in the United Kingdom, circulates the magazine freely, and space has been placed at the disposal of the New Zealand Government for special articles by Cabinet Ministers. In the first New Zealand publicity number, the Prime Minister, Mr. Coates, has written a simple and attractive . article in which he gives a summary of the Dominion’s economic position, and also tells some of the charm of the country and the occupations of its people. A plea is also made for trade within the Empire. The firm, with the co-operation of the Government, is issuing a series of cigarette cards which will be distributed in the British Isles, and samples of these have been published in the magazine. Real photographs, they give an excellent idea of New Zealand scenery and industry.
