MEETING OF EXECUTIVE WELCOME TO NEW COACH At a meeting of the Management Committee of the City and Suburban Cricket Association held last evening, the chairman, Mr. J. F. W. Dickson, extended a welcome to the English coach, Mr. G. Cox, of Sussex, who has
been engaged by the association for the coming season. Mr. Dickson said that the one long ambition of the association was to launch out on its own and have its own coach. Through the good efforts of Mr. E. H. Bowley the result was j now achieved. The new coach Was ■ regarded as one of the best in Eng- | land and his standing in cricket at Home was of the highest order. The chairman concluded by assuring Mr. Cox of the loyal friendship of the members of the association and hoped ’ his connection with cricket would be beneficial to all. ! Mr. Cox briefly thanked the associa- | lion for its welcome. .After a prolonged discussion it was decided to attach the coach to the Green Lane' Club, which, however, shall have no jurisdiction over Mr. Cox’s services should thoy be otherwise required on Saturdays.
