WALSH INCENSED

CHIEF CLERK WITHDRAWS SEAMEN’S UNION BATTLE NOT OVER (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 11.15 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. The domestic troubles of the Australian Seamen’s Union became accentuated in the week-end when the chief clerk of the Federal secretary’s office, R. Hack, withdrew, and transferred to the State secretary’s office with his books and papers. Walsh is incensed. He declares Hack automatically sacked himself, and that somebody else should be appointed. The Johnston faction of the Sydney branch held a meeting among themselves and dispatched Peter MeKernan to 1 Adelaide to supercede the local secretary, C. Woodsford, who is a Walsh supporter, but members there are giving McKernan the cold shoulder. The battle is not concluded.
