DIOCESAN OLD GIRLS HAVE A REUNION
The annual reunion of the Old Girls of the Diocesan High School was held during the week-end, when days were discussed and acquaintances renewed. This ■was the 25th anniversary of the Founders’ Day commemorations, and seemed to emphasise tho fact that the league, being well grown up, was now a vital thing to the school. a ... .. The celebrations opened with tne customary Founders’ Day service at the school, followed later by a cricket match versus the school. Miss W. Averill captained the Old Girls’ XI, the following girls playing against School: Alisses W. Averill. C. Anderson. D. Didsbury, I. Hawkins. Mayo, L». Manning, J. O’Halloran, L. Roberton. D. Shearer, A Wilson, M. Hutton Whitelaw. After an exciting game the victory went to School, resulting from a brilliant throw-in, which captured the last of Old Girls’ wickets. On Friday evening the Executive Committee held a reception in the old Bishopscourt library, when the vicepresident (since elected president). Aliss D. Butler, in blue eharmeuse and flame evening wrap, received the guests. Saturday afternoon was taken lip with the conference, and in tho evening Aliss Pulling, the beloved head mistress for so many years, gave a devotional address to all members. Holy Communion was celebrated in the school chapel on Sunday, and in the afternoon Aliss Sandford, the present head mistress, wearing rose beige hat and tailored coat, received, the Old Girls to tea in the school hall, after which Evensong was held in the chapel. The reunion functions were well attended by all local members of the league, as well as by a number or country members. _____
