F. Layne, of Sydney, and Miss E. Rutledge, of Sydney, are guests at the Royal Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. C. Honore, of Raetihi, and Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Makin, of New Plymouth, are at the Central Hotel. • * * Mrs. J. Myles, of Ngaruawahia, is in Auckland for a few days to see her mother and sister off on a trip to Sydney. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Mann, of Vancouver, and Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Go^ r an, of Melbourne, are staying at the Hotel Cargen. Dr. Leslie Averill and Mrs. Averill, who have been visiting Auckland, returned to Christchurch by the Limited last evening. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Keppel Archer, of Christchurch, returned by the Marama to-day from a six months’ tour of England and the Continent. Miss Gladys Taylor and Mr. Geoffrey Taylor, of Central Otago, who have been the guests of Mrs. Patrick Darby, of New Street, Ponsonby, left by the Aorangi for a holiday visit to Australia. • * * Mrs. R. Jessell, of England, wife of Lieutenant Jessel, of H.M.S. Diomede, arrived in Auckland to-day by the Marama, and will be the guest of Mrs. David Nathan at “The Hill,” Manurewa. * * • At the Grand are Mr. and Mrs. J. Nathan, of New South Wales, Mr. and Mrs. A. Puflett, of Gisborne, Mr. and Mrs. H. Bauer, of New York, Mrs. J. Gold, of London, and Miss M. Patrick, of Wellington.
