GRAND

“BATTLES OF CORONEL AND FALKLAND ISLANDS”

The naval drama, “The Battles of Coronel and Falkland Islands,” will be shown again this evening at the Grand Theatre.

This is the first British war film made with official help from both sides. The producers were helped by the Admiralty, and by the German Government, and consequently the film shows in full detail the authentic story of the two battles, firstly the disastrous English defeat when the Monmouth and Good Hope were defeated, and lastly the defeat of the Germans who w'ere forced to encounter overwhelming odds. It is not an adventure story, but an epic of the days when Britain fought to retain the supremacy of the seas.
