LYRIC

“A RENO DIVORCE” “A Reno Divorce,” an ultra-modern story with May McAvoy as the star, is the current attraction at the Lyric Theatre. Miss McAvoy plays the part of Carla, a reckless society girl, who runs down a good-looking but seedily-clad pedestrian, picks him up and nurses him well. When both are acting to the satisfaction of Cupid, they are confronted by a newly-divorced couple who proceed to make things hum in a manner rather shocking even to the thrill-loving Carla. Her new suitor tries to win her through appealing to her love for gaming, and “fixes” the roulette wheel in order to force her into paying up for her losses by marrying him. Other exciting and unexpected twirls of the wheel of fate sweep the story to a dramatic climax. Another exciting story, “Mulhall’s Great Catch,” starring Lefty Flynn, is also being shown.
