THE ONLY POLICY
LABOUR’S OFFER TO PEOPLE The only policy is that of Labour, Ml*. W. T. Anderton, Labour man in Eden, told a meeting: at Kingsland. Dealing with the Labour platform he said it was the only policy, with anything like reasonable proposals that had any -vitality within it. Dealing with the United Party the candidate said that it was a link with the Reform Party. A vote for United was a vote for a party that lacked ideals or even the practical politics that is usually looked for by sane and reasonable electors. Mr. J. A. Lee addressed a meeting at the corner of Valley Road in support of Mr. W. T. Anderton’s eanditure and was accorded an attentive hearing. A question was asked: “Was it true that Mr. Stallworthy had approached a Reform Cabinet Minister, asking that the Minister would put a candidate in the field against the United Party in Auckland East, but to give them a clear run?” Mr. Anderton: Yes, if Mr. Lee said so. it would be so and at the same time i-t goes t* show how closely allied the United Party’s policy must be to that of Reform.
