CITIZENS’ SUNDAY

OBSERVANCE AT DEVONPORT

To celebrate Citizens’ Sunday, a special service was held in the Devonport Presbyterian Church yesterday morning. The Mayor, Mr. E. Aldridge, Borough Council members, and representatives of public institutions, were among a large congregation. The Rev. W. Lawson Marsh emphasised the ideal of citizenship. Recognition must be given the debt a citizen owed to a community, he said. The deepest need of the community was spiritual, not material.
