ONE TREE HILL BOROUGH?

BETTER STATUS SOUGHT The status of the One Tree Hill district, which is controlled by a road board, will bo considered at this week's meeting of the board, the probability being that the board will take steps to have the road district elevated to a borough. The main advantages under borough status are in relation to rating and loan powers, though general administration also benefits. The area contains some 8,000 inhabitants and 1,000 are sufficient to secure borough standing. Mr. R. G. Clark, a member of the board who is interesting himself in the movement, considers that the district as a borough would benefit to the extent of just under £IO,OOO annually.
