DUNNING AGAIN IN THE LIMELIGHT

WRECKS GRAFTON’S HOPES The feature of the Grafton-Univer-sity match was the bowling of Dunning, for Varsity. Grafton won the toss and decided to bat on a. wicket which was fast and just sufficiently bumpy to put sting into fast bowling. As a result, not one of its batsmen got into double figures and in eight overs, Dunning, who took full advantage of the wicket, took seven for 15 runs, the whole side being put out for 43. University seemed to be about to repeat this performance when two wickets fell with only five runs up, but Schnauer and Gee,.at third wicket, got together and partnered each other until the score reached 90, Schnauer making 45 and Gee 55. Later in the afternoon, when the play settled down to slow, steady cricket' Bush, who hit up 55 not out, and McDougall, who got 21 not out, brought the total up to 191 for seven wickets at stumps.
