TROTSKY’S BANISHMENT

DUE TO BOOK DENOUNCING SOVIET (“TYRANNY OVER WORKERS” (United P.A.—By Tsic graph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Sunday. The Berlin correspondent of the “Daily Express” says that it was the discovery of Trotsky’s book, in which he denounced the Soviet, that brought about his banishment. It was discovered just as it was about to be broadcast all over Russia. The Cheka, (the Russian secret police> worked swiftly and silently, and within a couple of days every one who was in any way concerned had been arrested and exiled to the farthest corners of Russia. The entire edition was destroyed. Trotsky exposes the breakdown of the Soviet's industrial system, and says that the Soviet bureaucracy's tyranny over the workers was worse than that of the Tsarist regime. The youth of the country was growing up illiterate, owing to the Soviet's failure to organise schools. The sovereignty of the people was a mere fiction, all power being vested in the Stalin oligarchy, which immediately removes anyone voicing differing opinions.
