PROFIT ON RACE MEETING fSpecial to THE SUX) MATAMATA, Friday. There was a good Attendance at the annual meeting of the Matamata Placing Club, Mr. G. G. Bell presiding. The secretary, Mr. T. J. Underwood, presented the annual report and balance sheet. The report stated that notwithstanding a drop in entries the meeting held in February had been successful, the net profit being over £. 1,000. During the year considerable improvements had been carried out on the course, which included better facilities for trainers and the erection of stalls and loose boxes. The balance sheet disclosed that the club was in a sound position financially, Both the report and balance sheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron. Mr. F. F. Hockly. M.P.: president. .Mr. J. W. Andersen; vice-presidents, Messrs. Geo. Johnstone B. J. Maiseivc. Casey; committee, Messrs. J. White, C. G. Favze j Downie, F. Hitchcock and A. Stewartauditor, Mr. B. C.
