BEACH FACILITIES

NORTH SHORE MOVES AHEAD While the city argues with itself what is to be done to make its beaches safe for public use. North Shore is steadily equipping its sands with attractions for the visiting public. The new dance “shippe” at Milford will be a source of attraction; the Windsor reserve beach, at the wharf at Devonport, has been supplied with a barge type pontoon for the use of swimmers; a chute is being built, and novelties, such as a spinning barrel and a log moored with a swivel, are ready. Narrow Neck is to be equipped with a pontoon and the for many years neglected Taka puna Beach is to be made popular too, and a surf club has been formed to patrol it.
