HOTEL FOR TITIRANGI
MODERNISING A SPLENDID RESORT COMPANY FLOATED Titirangi, the splendid holiday and scenic resort in the Waitakere Ranges, lacks one thing at present, a modern hotel, to give it the popularity it deserves. Through the flotation of the company, Hotel Titirangi, Ltd., with a nominal capital of £50,000, this prospect now takes definite shape. The company, which went to allotment on October 2, has purchased the property and tea room of Mr. W. A. Bishop, the business being taken over on October 1. It intends to build an hotel of modern design to accommodate 63 guests. Planned especially to serve a holidaying public, the building will include a tea room, roof garden, ballroom and basement garage. It will be fireproof, and a system of central heating will be installed. Residents of the district have already given strong support to the undertaking. Once the up-to-date hotel is erected Titirangi must become one of the most popular resorts in the Dominion. Fine scenery and the bracing air of the hills combine to make it a delectable spot for weekenders.
