MANAWATU IN FLOOD
Press Association PALMERSTON N. # Thursday. The rain which has fallen for several days on the east side of the ranges has resulted in heavy flooding on the Manawatu River and its contributory streams. As all of them are still rising there is great danger of the widespread flooding of the lower reaches. The gauge at the Palmerston North, bridge registered 12ft at 11 p.m.
