NAVAL FILM AT GRAND

“The Battles of Coronel and Falkland Islands” will be shown at the Grand Theatre this evening. This film depicts in a vivid and authentic manner the disastrous battle of Coronel during whioh the “Good Hope” and the “Monmouth” were sunk, and the successful British engagement in which the German squadron, under the command of Von Spee, was defeated, and, with the exception of the “Dresden,” sent to the bottom of the ocean.

The gallant British sailors, fighting at Coronel against overwhelming odds, met their end with a gallantry that shows that England’s men ever live up to their age-old traditions. Later at Falkland Islands, when the Germans were forced into an encounter, they, too, behaved in a very gallant and heroic manner.
