CTOR ALLEGES FRAUD
PAID AWAY £250 YOUNG MAN ON TRIAL :tradited from Suva when sailing [he United States, Edward Saville 1 Esdaile, aged 28, stood trial in Supreme Court this afternoon on large of obtaining £250 from Dr. L Cooper by false pretences, p. V. N. Hubble prosecuted, and G. F. Finlay defended prisoner. I evidence, Dr. Harold Alexander ler said he first met accused when Itaiing him for insurance. He fe. Esdaile was interested in a cerItgency for a brand of American pe engines. Witness, accused and Bdgar Frank Chivers formed a iership to exploit the engines. Ac- ■ informed witness that he was a ftpr of the Art and Publicity ■any, Dilworth Buildings. He H later that he had had a Brow with his co-directors of the Iteity Company, who objected to Ictivities with the engine partnerI Esdaile suggested that the pership should buy out the Pub- | Company. It Gpcertained that this man had not fed any of -the £250. On Sep--27 witness obtained a warrant' peused’s arrest.
