Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. Ratepayers in the special loan area of the Waimakariri River Trust district voted to-day on a proposal to raise a loan of £IOO.OOO for improved flood control measures, including two cuts to shorten the lower reaches of the river. The proposal was carried by 3,495 votes to 2.866. The total number of names on the roll is 36.531.
