AN ATTRACTIVE COSY CORNER

This pleasing lounge illustrates a somewhat rare combination. It ib both modern and comfortable. Many designers of modern furniture are building suites in almost Spartan style. Whether they are trying to harden the race by making furniture aggressively uncomfortable, or whether they are merely seeking originality, it is difficult to say, but a really comfortable piece is an acquisition to be treasured. The above setting is well worth imitation, and there is nothing in it that cannot be bought in Auckland. The wicker panelled furniture, has been particularly popular since it was so attractively displayed in the model house at the Advertising Club’s exhibition. The recesses on either side of the fireplace are pleasantly unusual, and may recommend themselves to intending home-builders.
