Voice of the Public

TRANSPORT BOARD POLL RATEPAYERS VOTE TO-DAY The ratepayers’ poll to decide whether the Auckland Transport Board Act, 1928, is to be brought into operation is being taken to-day. In addition to the city area, the poll is also being taken in the boroughs of Mount Eden, Newmarket, and Mount. Albert, the road dstricts of Mount Roskill, Mount Wellington and One Tree Hill, and the town districts of Ellerslie and Panmure. An application for the Commerce Train, now touring Auckland province, to be turned into a booth, has been refused, on the ground that it is not possible for the statutory requirements to be complied with.
