SMASHED WINDOWS

WOMAN S FIT OF TEMPER ORDERED TO PAY DAMAGE Rose Hunter was overcome by a fit of temper on October 23, and smashed most of the windows in a house where she was staying. Hunter, a domestic, aged 34, pleaded guilty to committing wilful mischief by damaging 18 panes of glass, valued at 10s 4d, the property of Joseph Brady. “She was here not so long ago for exactly the same thing,” commented Sub-Inspector McCarthy. Hunter had been living in a cottage in Airedale Street, owned by Mrs. Brady. By some chance she had no longer had the place to herself and had expressed her annoyance by wrecking the house. “She has a long list,” concluded Mr. McCarthy. Hunter, who had been in hospital suffering from wounds received when she broke the glass, was ordered to pay the damage and hospital expenses, in default one month's imprisonment.
