JUDGING PROCEEDING Press Association PALMERSTON N., To-day. To-day was judging day at the Fifth Royal Show, when a splendid array of pedigree stock was presented to the judges. Weather conditions are showing an improvement and a large attendance is expected. K The following are championsihps awarded: Tamworth boar: D. and S. Ross, Te Puke, 1 ; Bird Bros., Oroua Downs, 2. Sow: D. and S. Ross, 1; Bowen and Wilson. Hastings, 2. Large black boar: D. and S. Ross, 1; E. P. Nielsen, Tiakitahuna, 2. Sow: E. P. Nielsen, 1; Central Development Farm, Wereroa, 2. English Leicester, in wool, ram and ewe: Sir R. Heaton Rhodes, 1: Sir D. Mac Lean, 2. Border Leicester, in wool, all championships: G. W. Pearce, Waitotara Shorthorns, bull: J. A. Johnstone. Palmerston South, Bushy Park Augustus Hero, 1; Johnstone’s Bushy Park Lavender Royal, 2. Cow: Arch. McLean’s (Hastings) Greenhill Lady Flora X., 1; McLean’s Greenhill Royal Duchess XIV., 2. Johnstone’s Bushy Park Augustus Hero won the New Zealand Shorthorn Society’s cup for the best Shorthorn, male or female, registered in the society’s herd book; also the cup for the best pedigree Shorthorn bull, presented by the Shorthorn Society of Great Britain and Ireland.
