CHARGED WITH FRAUD
LABOURER REMANDED TO THAMES Leslie Murray, a labourer aged 24, was charged at the Police Court this morning with obtaining a bottle of whisky valued at 13s 6d from William Kelley, licensee of the Kopu Hotel, by representing that an order signed by G. A. McCowatt was genuine. Murray, who pleaded not guilty, was remanded to appear at Thames oh Tuesday. Bail was allowed in one surety of £IOO, the amount being later reduced to £SO.
