MEETING OF EXECUTIVE
APPOINTMENT OF SELECTORS The usual weekly meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland Cricket Association was held last evening, Mr. E. E. Nalder presiding. A letter was received from the Drury Club asking for information regarding
junior teams which would be willing to travel to Drury for the purpose of playing friendly matches. Mr. D. V. Moore pointed out that there was no bye in either of the divisions in the junior grade, but a bye would occur in the third grade A section. It was, therefore, decided, to forward the names of the third grade A teams. An application from the director or the Seddon Memorial Technical College for the services of one of the coaches on Tuesday afternoons was referred to the coach committee. On behalf of Messrs. E. R. Russell, F. H. Seccombe and himself, Mr. PLuckie forwarded a cheque for 12s 6d. being the amount of refund received from New Zealand Cricket, Ltd. It was decided to draw the attention of the Umpires’ Association to the rule regarding prompt starting at 2 o’clock, and also after the afternoon tea adjournment. On the motion of Mr. Smeeton. it was resolved to ask the Eden Park Board of Control to provide a locker for the use of each senior club. Messrs. E. C. Beale. N. C. Snedden. G. Cummings, R. W. Rowntree and W. J. Smeeton were nominated for the olfiee of representative selectors, and a ballot resulted in favour of Messrs. Beale, Snedden and Smeeton. The offer of a bat was accepted with thanks, the trophy to be given to the first player to score a century in grades lower than, the first grade. Messrs. J. S. Barrett and W. H. Winsor, of Christchurch, wrote accepting the positions of the association’s resident delegates to the New Zealand Cricket Council.
