WHAT GERMANY WILL PAY ARRANGING A COMMISSION INVITATION TO AMERICA (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Monday. The Berlin correspondent of the “Morning Post” says that the German Government formally opened the way to convening a commission to arrange the final settlement of Germany’s reparation obligations, by instructing German diplomatic representatives in London, Paris, Brussels, Rome and Tokyo, to make the necessary proposals. It is emphasised that the membership of the commission should he confined to independent economic experts send thus prevent the introduction of politics, also making it possible for the United States to be represented, as it is feared that otherwise America would refuse to take part. Washington has been notified accordingly. The “Daily Telegraph’s” diplomatic correspondent believes that Berlin will be insistent on fixing the annual payments at £100,000,000.
