HECKLERS QUASHED

MR. FLETCHER SPEAKS AT KINGSLAND Numerous attempts at heckling were made at Kingsland last evening during the first stages of the address by Mr. J. S. Fletcher, United Party candidate for Grey Lynn. Mr. Fletcher, however, was ready for any interjections from the audience, which included u larye Labour section. After a time the interjections ceased, and a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence was carried. Mr. Fletcher took the Labour Partv to task for its plans, and tackled Reform administration severely. He explained the United platform fully, and enumerated the chief points of Sir Joseph Ward's £70,000,000 borrowing scheme. After an attentive hearing Mr Fletcher answered questions for threequarters of an hour.
