ON HAURAKI PLAINS
ANNUAL MEETING HELD (From Our Own Correspondent) NGATEA, Saturday. The annual meeting of the Hauraki Plains Cricket Association was held at Ngutea on Friday evening, Mr. H. L. Berney presiding over* representatives from the Ngatea, Kopuaralii, Waitakaruru, Pipiroa, Kaihere and Orongo district clubs. It was reported that Turua was unable to field a team, but there was a chance of a Kerepeehi-Netherton club desiring affiliation. The balance sheet showed a credit balance of £9 10s lOd, and the report detailed a successful season and bright prospects. Officers elected were as follow: Patron, Mr. E. L. Walton; president, Mr. H. L. Berney; secretary and treasurer, Mr. F. L. Wallis; auditor, Mr. S. W\ Rolfe; wet weather committee, Messrs. F. L. Wallis, H. Dane and J. G. Miller. Notice of motion was given to rescind the rule stipulating three selectors for the representative teams, Mr. C. Stretton advocating a system whereby each team selector would submit a selection to a sole selector, who would be compelled to pick the teams according to the number of votes x*eceived by each player. After a long discussion it was agreed that the inter-club competition be played in two-day matches, one innings in each centre on succeeding Saturdays. Matches will commence at 11 a.m.. and stumps will be drawn at 3.30 p.m. The draw resulted as follow: Ngatea at Pipiroa; Orongo at Kaihere; Kopuaralii at Waitakaruru. Orongo at Ngatea; Pipiroa at Waitakaruru; Kaihere at Kopuarahi. Ngatea at Kaihere; Pipiroa at Kopuarahi; Orongo at Waitakarere. Ngatea’ at Waitakarere; Pipiroa at Kaihere; Orongo at Kopuarahi.
