ASSISTANCE TO HOSPITAL BOARD PRIME MINISTER’S PROMISE When a deputation from the Auckland Hospital Board waited on the Prime Minister, Mr. J. G. Coatee, this morning, it was informed that the Government would make a special grant for unemployment relief, over and above the ordinary charitable aid expenditure. The deputation, which was received privately, consisted of the board’s chairman (Mr. W. Wallace), Mr. E. H. Potter, and Mr. H. A. Somerville (secretariD. “The Prime Minister has now agreed that a grant be made available for unemployment relief over and above the board’s ordinary charitable aid expenditure,” Mr. Wallace told The Sun after the deputation bad withdrawn. “Mr. Coates gave us his assurance that 'provision has already been made for this and that the grant would be made ae promised. “He promised also that a grant would be made to make available a sum of £1,900 promised two or three years ago, but not received. “This will be welcome news to the board, as we are very much concerned with the problem of providing unemployment relief.
