BOARD PROBLEM SOLVED
CARPENTER GOES TO GAOL Hearing that George Ross had been sleeping in the scrub lately, and having little to eat, Constable Wells brought him before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., this morning, when his board problem was solved. Ross, a carpenter. aged 54, was charged with being idle and disorderly, •having insufficient lawful means of support. “I can’t get work, but I am not disorderly. I have only sixpence,” said Ross. Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M.: He is evidently one of those fellows who is unable to battle along in the woi'ld. Major Holmes: He refuses to come to the Salvation Army Home. sir. Mr. Hunt: It is a pity. He should be in a place like that. I suppose I shall have to send him to gaol. A sentence of three months’ imprisonment. was imposed.
